World could heat up nearly 3 degrees by 2024, warns United Nations

A distressing new report put out by the United Nations weather agency on Thursday states that the planet could potentially see annual temperatures blowing past thresholds within the next five years. There’s a 20% chance that temps will soar 2.7º Fahrenheit higher in any given year between 2020 and 2024, warned the World Meteorological Organization. The unsettling marker is the level nations agreed to cap global warming at in the multinational emissions pact known as the 2015 Paris Agreement, reported The Associated Press.
